Being 11 miles long; it's considered a longer backcountry walk. It's a long journey from Tucson to La Milagrosa-Aqua Caliente Trail, but many people like to walk here to be in close proximity  
to the fresh air. Now, this is roughly a 1.5-day hike, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. Around La Milagrosa-Aqua Caliente Trail you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is August while May is mostly the driest month. There's not much difference in elevation along the hiking and backpacking trail, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole hiking and backpacking trail. Every Arizona wilderness hiking trail is worth backcountry trekking. Keep in mind that this is a long backcountry trail, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. La Milagrosa-Aqua Caliente Trail has only one trailhead, so you'll be backcountry trekking it in and back out. This vicinity does get very dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. There are so many backcountry trails in this region.

Camping is available at Molino Basin Campground; a tour to Saguaro National Park is recommended. Burro Basin is right here at La Milagrosa-Aqua Caliente Trail; why not have a look at Windy Point also since you're here.
It's always brilliant to explore West Spring, and everyone loves Molino Basin. Don't leave La Milagrosa-Aqua Caliente Trail without first paying a visit to Mercer Spring, and the trees of Santa Catalina Ranger District are a wonderful source of shade on hot summer days.
