The total elevation difference for this hiking trail is 217 feet, and that is lower than average. There's not much difference in elevation along the great outdoors trail, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your hike. This neighborhood does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Being 3.8 miles long it's a shorter type hike. This hiking trail has two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can hike it just one way. Honeymoon Trail is not that long but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. This backcountry hike shouldn't take more than 3 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that.
