Arizona hiking trails - Crest Trail, Cochise County

   
  We all need to get out in the outdoors once in a while, and Crest Trail in Cochise County, Arizona is just the place. Each great outdoors hiking trail in Arizona is different from the others.     Sometimes this great outdoors hiking trail gets really dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Being 16 miles long; it's longer than many great outdoors trails. This is a two-ended backcountry hiking trail with
two trailheads, so backcountry hiking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. Some parts of Crest Trail are much higher up than other parts of the great outdoors trail which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the great outdoors trail. Pretty far from Nogales you find Crest Trail, but backcountry trekking it is splendid excitement any time. This trek should take you about 2.5 days, so better have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need. The total elevation difference for this backcountry  
hiking trail is 2,102 feet which is about average. The length of this hiking and backpacking trail is on the longer side with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this a very tough hiking trail for advanced walkers looking for a splendid challenge. It is very dried out here at Crest Trail generally; the month with most of the rain is July while May is generally the driest month. High temperatures at Crest Trail during the warm days of summer are in the 90's while nighttime lows are typically in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's; nighttime lows during the winter for Crest Trail tend to be in the 30's. Tremendous great outdoors hiking trails in Arizona are in abundance, and Crest Trail is one of them, and it's in Cochise County.

Briefly about the general area:
You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff at Crest Trail. A pleasant visit to Pine Park is a good way to spend an afternoon, and camping at Crest Trail is good fun, Garden Canyon Mobile Home is a good local campground.
Take a side tour to Soldier Creek; you might also want to pay a visit to Brushy Canyon since you're here at Crest Trail. A short spree to Deer Spring is always worthwhile, and if you came for an overnight stay Ramsey Canyon Campground is a delightful spot to camp. Blacktail Spring is always fun to check out, and needless to say Turkey Creek is a picturesque stream that is worth checking out.
