Bright Angel Trail has a total elevation difference of 4,478 feet which is a higher than average number. This area does get very dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Keep in mind that this is a long trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. With its 16.4 miles of walking distance; it's a long backcountry hiking trail. Different parts of Bright Angel Trail are at very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. Of course, this is an overnight backcountry trek, 2.5 days normally, so it's an outstanding thing if your backpack is big enough to do the job.
