What a gorgeous hike! Way to stick with it. We have been hiking with our kids for a couple years now, but they are a little older. It's a great family activity. Says Leidy

The total elevation difference for Bell Trail is 2,165 feet which is an average number. The time needed for this trek is roughly 8.5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Different parts of Bell Trail are at very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. Now this great outdoors trail is pretty long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. This trail has only one trailhead, so in and out is the way to hike it normally. This vicinity does get very dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Bell Trail is 10 miles long; it's considered a longer trek.
