Briefly about the general area: Get your pulse rate up on the fine whitewater of Black River - East Fork; a spree to Prieto Plateau revives the soul. Just can't get enough
of the San Francisco Mountains. The trees of Clifton Ranger District are a pleasant source of shade on hot summer days. There's so much to do here at Bear Canyon Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Upper Juan Miller Campground is a pleasant spot for that. And that's not
all the things to do here in the San Francisco Mountains. There's some flowing water close by, Wet Prong Creek is a stream you can pop by while here; close by Hogtrail Canyon is a great place to go. Middle Prong Creek flows through this region; Pine Flat is a tremendous location
to check out. Horse Springs is a good local attraction; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Blue River. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Put some time aside to spend at Bear Spring since you're here at Bear Canyon Trail. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Bear Canyon Trail has to offer, you can camp at Honeymoon Campground.
