Arizona hiking trails - Baldy Trail, Mogollon Rim Mountains, Gila County

   
  Baldy Trail is not very close to Payson at all, but it is a really glorious hiking trail. Each hiking trail in Arizona has something unique to offer.     get into the 100's with overnight lows in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 50's while Baldy Trail overnight low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 20's. The total elevation difference for this wilderness trail is 3,403 feet which is higher
than average. This region does get very dry sometimes, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. Keep in mind that this is a long great outdoors hiking trail, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. This backpacking and hiking trail is a mid length backpacking and hiking trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this great outdoors trail great for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. Brilliant hiking trails in Arizona are in abundance; one of them being Baldy Trail in Gila County. At Baldy  
Trail you don’t see much rain; the month with most of the rain is March while June is usually the driest month. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in place. These backpacking and hiking trails here in the Mogollon Rim Mountains are a very good way to see these mountains. The time needed for this trek is roughly 7 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. This is just one of a large number of great outdoors trails in this neighborhood. Some parts of this backcountry hiking trail are much higher up than other parts of the backcountry hiking trail, and that means that some parts of the backcountry hiking trail could be very different from other parts of it. Being 8 miles long it's a mid length backcountry walk.

Briefly about the general area:
Put some time aside to spend at Black Bear Spring since you're here at Baldy Trail, and Big Oak Flat is a gorgeous site any time of year. This is a really good river. A tremendous site to camp here at Baldy Trail is Apache Lake Campground, and paddling on Tonto Creek is so much fun.
All year is a glorious time in the Mogollon Rim Mountains if you like the outdoors. Dan Neal Spring is a brilliant local attraction; the sights at Tonto National Monument will blow your mind. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff at Baldy Trail. Camping is available at Burnt Corral Campground; Black Bear Saddle is in the vicinity, and is a delightful site.
